Author Guidelines
LORE welcomes original, rigorous and thoughtful scholarship that contributes to contemporary conversations across law, policy, society, innovation and professional practice.
Authors should review these guidelines before submitting a manuscript.

We invite scholarship examining how law is responding to technological, social, economic, institutional and professional change.
Submissions may address any jurisdiction or field of law and may adopt doctrinal, comparative, empirical, interdisciplinary, theoretical or practice-focused approaches.
What We Publish
Have a perspective that can move the legal conversation forward? LORE invites scholars, practitioners, researchers and emerging voices to share original, thoughtful work that challenges assumptions, explores change and offers fresh insight across law, policy, society, innovation and professional practice.

Manuscript
Manuscript Requirements
Submissions should:

be original and unpublished;
-
make a clear contribution to the subject;
-
demonstrate appropriate research and analytical depth;
-
use reliable and verifiable sources;
-
accurately attribute the work and ideas of others;
-
be written in clear professional English;
-
comply with LORE’s citation and formatting requirements;
-
disclose relevant conflicts of interest;
-
disclose the use of generative AI where applicable; and
-
not be simultaneously under consideration by another publication.
Preparing Your Manuscript
Where appropriate, manuscripts should include:
Title
Author Name(s)
Removed from the anonymised review copy.
Abstract
Approximately 150–300 words.
Keywords
Approximately 4–8 relevant terms.
Main Text
Use clear headings and subheadings.
Footnotes / References
Acknowledgements
Where applicable.
Declarations
Including conflicts of interest, funding and AI-use disclosure where relevant.
Authorship & AI Use Disclosure

Authorship & Responsibility
All listed authors should have made a meaningful contribution to the work and must approve the manuscript before submission.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that author information is complete and accurate and that all contributors have agreed to submission.
AI tools may not be identified as authors.
AI Use & Disclosure
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity and appropriate attribution of all submitted work.
Where generative AI tools have materially assisted in drafting, analysis, translation, editing, research support or other substantive aspects of preparing a manuscript, their use should be appropriately disclosed.
AI-generated material must not substitute for author verification of legal authorities, citations, quotations or factual claims.

Citation & Publication Ethics
Citations & Sources
All legal authorities, quotations, data and substantive factual claims should be supported by appropriate and verifiable sources.
LORE will specify its preferred citation style in the final submission specifications.
Authors should ensure that:

citations are complete and accurate;
-
hyperlinks are functional where relevant;
-
quoted material corresponds with the cited source;
-
cases and legislation are accurately identified; and
-
references generated or suggested by AI tools are independently verified.
Publication Ethics
LORE expects authors to observe high standards of research and publication integrity.
The journal does not accept plagiarism, fabricated or falsified material, undisclosed conflicts of interest, misrepresentation of authorship or other forms of research misconduct.
Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for copyrighted or third-party material included in their submission.
Peer Review & Decisions

Review Process
Submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment for scope, quality, originality and compliance with journal requirements.
Manuscripts selected to proceed will undergo peer review appropriate to the nature of the submission.
Peer review is intended to strengthen scholarship through independent and constructive evaluation.
Submission does not guarantee acceptance for publication.
Editorial Decisions
Following review, a manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

Accept

Accept subject to revisions

Revise and resubmit

Decline
The Editorial Team may also recommend that a submission be considered under a different LORE section where appropriate.
